Dried paint on carpet is removable. Steps on removing dried paint from carpet before you start to remove paint from carpet with wd40 use the razor or blade to clean up as much of the dried paint as you can. Pass over the stain multiple times until the spot is fully saturated. Wait 5 minutes then gently scrape up loosened paint using the putty knife.

Mix one tsp of mild liquid detergent liquid with one cup of warm water and soak a clean towel in this mixture. Remove as much paint as possible by blotting if it is still wet or using a putty knife if the paint is dry.

Now rub the stain gently in blotting movements until it dissolves completely. Soak the stained area by the use of a mixture of one cup of warm water and one teaspoon of non alkali dishwashing detergent. The last thing you want to do is force the paint into the fibers of the carpet. Next step is to apply the wd40 on the stained area to soften it and work it with a clean rag and let it rest for approximately 20 minutes.

Getting an oil based paint out of carpet is similar to the process for getting out a water based paint. Then saturate the area by going over it with a carpet cleaner and cleaning solution. Whatever you do no matter how desperately you want to remove paint from carpet resist the urge to scrub. Wipe the edge of your putty knife with a clean rag often as you lift away old paint.

If the paint has dried scrape off as much as you can with a knife. Another option is to use a dishwashing soap and water solution to treat the paint stain. Allow the detergent to soak into the carpet for a few minutes then use a paint scraper or dull knife to remove the paint. Gently dab the spot to remove as much fresh paint as possible.

Spray the paint stain with goo gone.
